<p style="text-align: justify;">﻿﻿The Board of the Center for Graduate Studies in Engineering and Information Technology at Taiz University has announced the appointment of <strong>Dr. Abdo Ahmed Al-Daqaf as</strong> Center Director effective immediately.  <strong>Dr. Al-Daqaf</strong>, an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University, was selected from among 17 candidates who competed for the post.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><a rel="attachment wp-att-772" href="http://taizu-cgs.net/en/archives/743/dr-abdo"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-772" title="Dr. Abdo" src="http://taizu-cgs.net/en/wp-content/global_pic/2010/06/Dr.-Abdo.jpg" alt="" width="202" height="247" /></a>Dr. Abdo Ahmed Al-Daqaf</strong> was born in Yemen in 1965. After completing his secondary education in Taiz, he earned a bachelor’s degree in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, before proceeding to earn his Master’s and PhD in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce of the Suez Canal University  in Egypt.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As a researcher and author, Dr. Al-Daqaf has published a number of articles, research papers and co-authored a book in the area of Cost Accounting.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Al-Daqaf is an established Consultant and Practitioner; he spent five years, from 1986 to 1991, in the private sector in Jeddah working as a Financial Manager, and since 1991, has been working as a Consultant in Accounting, Auditing, HR, and Management both in Yemen and regionally.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As an instructor, Dr. Al-Daqaff is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Taiz University and is also a well recognized trainer in the fields of budgeting, costing, and change management.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">He recently prepared and presented a series of training courses for Taiz University Managerial Leaders in the fields of Total Quality Management (TQM) and HR development, in addition to developing other training programs for university’s employees and staff.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Most recently, Dr. Al-Daqaf was the Dean of the University’s Distance Education Program, and played a prominent role in the development and planning of the University’s strategic development plan as part of a team of specialists from the University, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and experts from the Netherlands.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Given the continuing large number of inquiries by interested prospective students, the CGS would also like to announce Board approval to allow for early registration for the second intake of students scheduled to begin classes in September.  Interested applicants can now contact the CGS directly or via the website to schedule an appointment for application and interview.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">We are proud to announce the opening the first Center for Graduate Studies (CGS) in Engineering and Information Technology, at Taiz University, Yemen</p>

<li><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Engineering and Management (ME&amp;M)</span></strong></li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The <a href="http://taizu-cgs.net/en/?page_id=18" target="_blank"> ME&amp;M</a> program is designed to meet the needs of industry by offering engineering graduates the critical skills needed to be successful in an engineering career.  The program provides an opportunity for industry exposure, real-life applications of the engineering principles and technologies and keep up with the recent advancements in engineering and management. It also provides a career path where engineers can process as managers and retain their basic identities as engineers.</p>

<li><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Information Technology and Management (MIT&amp;M)</span></strong></li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The <a href="http://taizu-cgs.net/en/?page_id=16" target="_blank">MIT&amp;M</a> is a degree program designed primarily for working professionals who seek  to broaden and deepen their knowledge of new and emerging information technologies, the application and integration of these technologies, and the administrative practices used in the effective management of these technologies.</p>

<li style="text-align: justify;">Taiz University (TU) is the third largest university in Yemen that was established in 1993 and  considered to be the technology focused university in Yemen.  Taiz University has become one of the first few Arab Universities to offer to its local and regional academic institutions and industry The Master programs in Engineering and Information Technology at its newly established Center for Graduate Studies (CGS).</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Founded in 1842, Delft University of Technology (TUDelft) is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive technological university inThe Netherlands. TUDelft has become well known for its IT management research and education, is reported to be among the first 17 best technology universities around the world.</li>
