Center Board appoints Dr. Abdo Al-Daqaf as new Director
Center for Graduate Studies at Taiz University Announces Appointment of First Center Director
The Board of the Center for Graduate Studies in Engineering and Information Technology at Taiz University has announced the appointment of Dr. Abdo Ahmed Al-Daqaf as Center Director effective immediately. Dr. Al-Daqaf, an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University, was selected from among 17 candidates who competed for the post.
Dr. Abdo Ahmed Al-Daqaf was born in Yemen in 1965. After completing his secondary education in Taiz, he earned a bachelor’s degree in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, before proceeding to earn his Master’s and PhD in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce of the Suez Canal University in Egypt.
As a researcher and author, Dr. Al-Daqaf has published a number of articles, research papers and co-authored a book in the area of Cost Accounting.
Dr. Al-Daqaf is an established Consultant and Practitioner; he spent five years, from 1986 to 1991, in the private sector in Jeddah working as a Financial Manager, and since 1991, has been working as a Consultant in Accounting, Auditing, HR, and Management both in Yemen and regionally.
As an instructor, Dr. Al-Daqaff is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Taiz University and is also a well recognized trainer in the fields of budgeting, costing, and change management.
He recently prepared and presented a series of training courses for Taiz University Managerial Leaders in the fields of Total Quality Management (TQM) and HR development, in addition to developing other training programs for university’s employees and staff.
Most recently, Dr. Al-Daqaf was the Dean of the University’s Distance Education Program, and played a prominent role in the development and planning of the University’s strategic development plan as part of a team of specialists from the University, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and experts from the Netherlands.
