Strategic Start
In April 2008, a Dutch government sponsored a project, NPT 271 supervised by Nuffic, to help create a partnership between Taiz University (TU) and Delft University of Technology (TUDelft). Such partnership has resulted in establishing the Center for Graduate Studies in Engineering and Information Technology (CGS) at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Taiz University.
In addition to the academic partnership of Taiz University and Delft University of Technology, for the first time in Yemen, two industry partners were invited to join such partnership to make a strong mix of Academic-Industry solidarity. The well- known Hayel Saeed Anam Group of Companies, representing the private sector, and the Public Telecommunication Company, representing the public sector, have contributed to the establishment of the center. Therefore, the Taiz University Center for Graduate Studies (TU-CGS) has four strong pillars of support: TU, TUDelft, HAS, and PTC.
Center for Graduate Studies (CGS)
Through the partnership of TU and TUDelft, The Center for Graduate Studies in Engineering and Information Technology was established at the Faculty of Engineering, Taiz University in June 2009. The CGS has been recognized by TU and TUDelft to offer two Master Programs: Master of Engineering and Management (ME&M), and Master of Information Technology and Management (MIT&M). The industry partners, HAS and PTC, were invited to participate in the process of curriculum development for both programs in order to arrive to the so-called market- oriented professional programs.
